Heel pain is a constant factor for many people, and it can be caused by many things. It could be the result of an outdoor or household accident, or from wrong gait and posture, or inadequate foot support. In many cases, the right cushioning and support can help correct any anomalies in weight distribution and gait, but in more everyday situations, it is better to give your tired and aching feet the chance to rest and heal themselves. We often put aching feet down to overwork and exhaustion, but Scholl Everyday Insoles can help correct your feet while providing them with support, and a shock absorbing cushion between your feet and the ground. But how do they work?
How Insoles Work
Insoles are inserts that are designed to fit inside your shoes. They provide a cushion between your feet and the actual sole of your shoe (and thus the ground, by extension). The insoles help absorb shocks while providing comfort for the base of your feet. Using insoles is really easy as well – it’s often as simple as removing the current shoe insoles, snipping the new insoles to fit the specific contours of your feet (see pack for details) and inserting them inside the shoes. You will soon notice the difference they make when you tie on your laces.
What are they for?
We often don’t realise how much of our day time is spent on our feet. During this time, the feet are tasked with supporting our entire bodies and carrying their weight. This can be really stressful on our muscles and bones. By making the feet extra comfortable with added support, our feet can feel better and also carry weight more effectively. The feet can be extremely hardworking – as much as 60% of our life is spent on our feet – and they can take us almost three times around the globe in distance. As such, treating them with a bit more care can keep away aches and pressures in the feet. The insoles also facilitate rolling movements, and provide elasticity that reduce excessive pressure, in case you wish to jog or run.
Scholl Everyday Insoles
Scholl’s GelActiv™ insoles come in three variants, but their everyday insoles offer all-round support for casual footwear. The GelActiv™ Technology consists of different gel elements to provide extra cushioning and support where feet specifically need it. They are designed for people who have an active lifestyle, and who are on their feet for several hours at a time, such as wait staff, postal delivery personnel and also construction workers. Scholl’s solution for heel pain and other foot-related ailments is to provide a gel layer insole that relieves feet long before they become tired. They provide adequate shock absorption, and additional cushioning that keep your feet insulated from the pressures of light bumps, shocks and knocks from every day activities. The firmer gel supports the arch of foot and the heel, while the softer gel cushions and absorbs shocks. Besides, the insoles are also washable. But be sure to swap the existing insoles for new ones every six months for better hygiene.
